UNCLAIMED DIMEX CARDS:

There are 1,650 unclaimed DIMEX cards belonging to people who have already processed their documentation for the first time, renewal, or duplicate.If you have already had your photo taken but have not picked up your DIMEX card within two months of being notified of its delivery at the Correos de Costa Rica branch selected for pickup, you should check the list at the following link:

If your DIMEX card is on the list, you must pick it up Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Central Immigration Offices in La Uruca, Gate 3, with your documentation receipt. No appointment is required for this procedure.

It is taking approximately 2 to 4 months after submitting the renewal request for delivery to the Costa Rica Post Offices.

In summary, Dimex cards that were requested in October 2025, are being delivered.
New changes for entry to Costa Rica with and without a visa. These changes apply from November 2025.
A visa is an authorization to enter a country. In the case of Costa Rica, there are regulations called the General Guidelines for Entry and Stay Visas for Non-Residents, which establish, based on the foreign nationality, whether or not a visa is required, visa exceptions, and entry requirements, among other things.
